ÉcoDélys (“we”) takes the protection of your personal information seriously. This policy explains what information we collect on the ecodelys.ca website, why we collect it, how we protect it and what your rights are. It complies with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

1. Who we are

The ecodelys.ca website is an information site. No sales take place on it and no payment information is collected. Our products are sold by our retailers (for example Maturin or Simplitude); when you buy from them, their own privacy policy applies.

2. Person in charge of the protection of personal information

The person in charge of the protection of personal information at ÉcoDélys is Romain Gagnon, President. For any question or request about your personal information, write to info@ecodelys.ca with “Personal information” in the subject line, or by mail to the address above.

3. Information we collect and why

We only collect the information needed for the purposes described below.

• Contact form: your first name, last name, email address, phone number (optional) and message. We use them only to answer and follow up on your request.
• Newsletter: your email address. We use it only to send you our news and offers. Every mailing includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also write to us at any time to be removed from the list.
• Technical browsing data: as with any website, our host automatically receives certain technical data when you visit (IP address, browser type, page viewed, date and time). This data is used only to display the site and protect it against cyberattacks.

We do not use any audience measurement tool, targeted advertising or profiling technology. We make no decision based exclusively on automated processing of your information.

4. Consent

By filling out a form on the site, you consent to our use of the information provided for the purposes described above. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us; we will then stop using your information, subject to our legal obligations.

5. Sharing with third parties

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We use a few service providers who use it only to provide the requested service:

• Cloudflare, for website hosting and security;
• Web3Forms, to forward messages sent through the forms to our mailbox;
• Microsoft 365, for our email.

Some of these providers are located outside Quebec, notably in the United States. Your information may therefore be processed there and be subject to local laws. We choose recognized providers who undertake to protect the information entrusted to them.

We may also disclose information when required by law, for example following a court order.

6. Retention

Messages received through the contact form are kept as long as needed to handle your request, and for no more than two years. Your email address remains on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe. Technical browsing data is kept by our host for a short period, under its own rules. Once the retention period is over, information is securely destroyed.

7. Security

The site is only accessible through an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the information you send us is limited to the people who need it for their work. If a confidentiality incident presented a risk of serious injury, we would notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the persons concerned, as required by law.

8. Your rights

You have the right:

• to know what personal information we hold about you and to obtain a copy;
• to have inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information corrected;
• to withdraw your consent or request that your information be deleted;
• to have your information released to you, or to another organization, in a structured, commonly used technological format.

To exercise these rights, write to the person in charge named in section 2. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

9. Cookies and external links

The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. For details, see our cookie policy. The site contains links to other websites (retailers, media, social networks); their privacy practices are not our responsibility.

10. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
